Open Air Somatic Yoga is a summer series of gentle outdoor classes held in natural spaces around Barcelona, Tarragona, and nearby areas. Here, we move and breathe alongside the land, sky, trees, and sea, letting the earth itself become part of our practice. This is not a structured yoga performance, but an invitation to feel your body in rhythm with the season, rooted in decolonial somatic care.
Classes blend accessible yoga flows with embodied movement explorations, offering space to listen to what your body knows. Whether you are new to yoga or familiar with somatic practices, these gatherings create a low-pressure way to reconnect outdoors, without expectation or perfection.
Sessions run during the warmer months (typically June–September), weather permitting, so you can join when the timing and weather align for you.
What happens in Open Air Somatic Yoga?
Each class follows an earthy, intuitive flow:
Grounding with the land: We begin by arriving on the earth, barefoot when possible, with breath, gentle awareness, and a shared intention that honors the place where we are practicing, the ancestors of the land, and our bodies' wisdom.
Embodied movement practice: We flow through simple yoga sequences adapted to the outdoor space, interwoven with somatic invitations like sensing the ground beneath you, following the wind's direction, or exploring "How does my body want to greet the horizon today?" Movements stay gentle, with plenty of choice to rest, adapt, or observe.
Communal presence: There is optional space for a few words of sharing, keeping the focus on feeling together rather than deep discussion.
Closing integration: We end with rest in savasana or a soft embodiment anchor, carrying the earth's support with us as we transition back into the day.
You are welcome to bring your mat (or borrow one) or a towel, water, layers for changing weather, and open curiosity.
